Say it Ain't So. Say it Ain't So

When asking around about the flatness at my favorite State Park in North Jersey I was told they recently completed a beach replenishment killing the sand bar. I was there a month ago and it was holding great. Any one know about this????

You mean county park? There's no state parks with a beach until you get to Island Beach. Right?

You're right. If he really means state park.... yea... I guess that kinda narrows it down, don't it.

If you were there a month ago and saw no signs of a beach fill project happening, its hard for me to believe they mobilized a dredge, and all of the land - based pipes and bulldozers and finished the project that fast. IDK...most projects ive seen drag on a lot longer than that. Do they even allow beach fill during the summer in New Jersey State Parks?

Yeah they started the fill placement along with the rest of LB back in Feb/March. Took them about two weeks to completely fill in past the long jettys. Absolutley disgusted me since this beach faired really well during Sandy - their beach width and dunes met Corps requirements which enabled it to survive so well. Anyway the break dumps on the beach now - checked it 4th July evening while catching the local fireworks during the Arthur swell. Perfect place to have your head driven into the sand if you try and swim when there is any surf. It'll be years before it breaks again.
