Wait!? Did I get Ripped off?

Anyone else get a new board with FCS II, not like their carver fins on really small waves, and attempt to put in FCS TC redlines (or any old school fin) only to find the board came with no screws? WTH? If I didn't get ripped off then why do I have to drop more coin to use my old fins? A screw probably cost pennies for FCS to buy in bulk. Putting the screws in shouldn't be a big deal (I may worry too much here) but...
    1. The old fins don't seem to sit all that snug in the box
    2. Weren't FCS screws installed with the box before glassing the board? What does this mean for installing them afterwards? I'm mechanically inclined but also extremely impatient

Ripped off? Anyone tackle this yet? Will drinking another PBR ease my apprehension?

Isnt that new system supposed to be used without the screws (on the new style fins of course)? So i'd guess to use the old ones you're gonna need to get some of your own. Pull em outta an old board or something. Bam free screws.

No one is selling the boards with screws that I have seen. My shop doesn't, but we build our own boards and have all that stuff on hand. We give the customer the screws if they want them. Its peanuts considering they just bought a $500 board. To be honest though, I don't know of anyone who has asked for them yet. Everyone is excited to try the new ones. And no, the screws are not installed before glassing. They angle on pretty easy if you just put them in yourself. Were you saying that you didnt like the carver fins?

Also fyi, I believe the new system was introduced b/c fcs ran out of the patent on the old system. (I think).

I have no qualms with the system (other than no screws) or the carvers (in the right conditions)... but reading the bio on them they are for open faced waves and experience has proven in really small/weak/wedgey Florida surf that a wider base/more upright fin (TCs and Stretches) allows my fat frame to generate more speed on the slightly undersized boards I love so much. And old proven FCS fin templates=free ...while new FCS fins, none of which resemble my favorite small wave templates=$100.

Pretty sure they are Aussie and nothing they make is produced in the US

So there are no fin screws or no holes? Because no screws is really not a big deal, just get them for like $2 or pull from an old board. No screw holes, that's a different story.

There's holes for the screws. There is also tab filler insert kit that fcs sells for about 10 (or so) bux. The front base of the new fins is longer, so the old fins have about a 1/2 inch gap in the box. Its not a big deal, more for appearance really. STRANDED- I would maybe give it a little time before fcs fills their catalog with all the same styles and options as their old fin systems. I looked at the site tonight and it seems like they are starting to show some new templates.

Ah ok, very understandable. I'd get the filler things. If you go the board at you're local shop id say demand screws. But that's just me.
