Last week a Lifeguard in Newport beach gave his life to save another. After 15 years of service Ben Carlson gave evewrything to save another swimmer. Here is to those who are willing to put it all on the line for others.
Wow. Lifeguards have a special place in my heart. My Mom was a lifeguard when I was a kid in Fla. I know sometimes surfers and guards don't get along. I always try and go say "Hi. How's it going?" and all to em. We seem to have a pretty good bunch here in Galveston. Many are also surfers.
I'm in Law Enforcement. When LE officers and firemen die in the line of duty they are laid to rest during ceremonies that are unexplainable to those who have never attended one. So much honor and respect. This gentleman deserves to be laid to rest in the same fashion. Thanks to him for 15 years, and god bless his family.
