I always wondered why our northern homeless never bothered just walking south...I mean they've got time on their hands. Maybe not all the way to FLA, but sh!t man I don't know how they do it when we get real cold snaps.

"90 degrees is uncomfortable, 5 degrees hurts"...I like that, and very true. I suffer in the heat personally but one can find ways to stay cool, and at least there would be critters to eat...when it gets frozen over up here I just don't get how the homeless survive. OP I don't get how surfing will help these guys either, but whenever one is doing something to raise awareness or help something other than themselves I'm all for it, so Godspeed.

Valid points, but dudes / dudettes die of heat stroke sometimes, it's probably not so bad in the keys or anywhere coastal because you always got the ocean to jump in and the sea breeze, but inland can be brutal. I've seen them passed out face down on the concrete cooking away like bacon before.

Shoot, I've almost blacked out from the heat and I HAVE a home! If you aint hydrated, you're going to pass out, and it don't take long. If you don't have money, good chance you are going to have a hard time staying hydrated.

I wonder how many of the FL homeless became that way by deciding to surf <or insert any other hobby/addiction instead> all day every day instead of living their lives with some sense of responsibility and self control. I know I would sure as hell be homeless within 6 months I tried to surf all day every day,,, but alas... I have this thing called a job...

i love the heat, i play basketball in the afternoon and run up and down the court, while the old people sit in the pool and at home in the a/c. I sweat out like 4 pounds of water in 2 hours..........

somebody should do a "homeless raid" like the "lowers raid" at Belmar, deal, and Manasquan.a thousand smelly bums charging the overcrowded waters and running over everybody and stealing their change on the beach.it would be biblical
