    The weather channel has been talking this up all day - solid waves in the Carribean. I guess if youre surfing the south shore of Jamaica, the hype train is aliive

    no; they get surf...mostly generated by the trade wind easterlies. the reason why they are not surfed (much)
    was touched on in the latest surfer mag.....seems its a $ issue. just not enough of it to buy products for
    recreational use.

    it's funny - our hype-train is like amateur hour compared to the hurricane doc's blog. his commentary is pretty depressing at the moment, coz there's nothing out there, but if you go through the comments, you get all kinds of lamenting, wailing, and prognosticating of the most optimistic nature. i assume his commenters are weather buffs and/or hurricane buffs, (prolly amateur and professional) and their hype-train is far more sophisticated than ours.

    it's kind of funny see an online community rooting for tropical development for reasons that have nothing to do with surfing - these guys just want to see some weather action.
