    RIP Robin Williams - Another Lost Hero

    O Captain! My Captain! BY WALT WHITMAN

    O Captain! my Captain! our fearful trip is done,
    The ship has weather'd every rack, the prize we sought is won,
    The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting,
    While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring;
    But O heart! heart! heart!
    O the bleeding drops of red,
    Where on the deck my Captain lies,
    Fallen cold and dead.

    O Captain! my Captain! rise up and hear the bells;
    Rise up—for you the flag is flung—for you the bugle trills,
    For you bouquets and ribbon'd wreaths—for you the shores a-crowding,
    For you they call, the swaying mass, their eager faces turning;
    Here Captain! dear father!
    This arm beneath your head!
    It is some dream that on the deck,
    You've fallen cold and dead.

    My Captain does not answer, his lips are pale and still,
    My father does not feel my arm, he has no pulse nor will,
    The ship is anchor'd safe and sound, its voyage closed and done,
    From fearful trip the victor ship comes in with object won;
    Exult O shores, and ring O bells!
    But I with mournful tread,
    Walk the deck my Captain lies,
    Fallen cold and dead.

    Logged onto the Internet, saw the sad news about Williams & had the exact same "oh noooo" feeling as when I boarded the F train in Carroll Gardens that long-ago morning & saw all the newspapers open & the NY Post headlines: 'John Belushi Dead'

    Depression is an effed up thing. It doesn't matter if you're rich and famous. You can be rich and really suffer.
    Was not a fan of his, but it's sad that someone can seem to have everything and still not be happy.

    I actually think its quite easy to become depressed if your rich and famous. Hollywood is very dangerous for people that don't really fit into the materialistic, egotistical, and wealthy lifestyle Hollywood is known for. You start to feel like your slipping away, like your losing your self.

    Harsh, dude, harsh. Yah, I get it, this is a harsh place planet earth & especially this efftarded Forum.

    Having said that, I'm not a "pop culture moron" - - I just appreciated some of the dude's work for what it was: IMHO, great comedic stuff in a world that is getting more effed up, and faster, than is comprehensible.

    Comparing Williams struggle with addiction & depression & whatever he had going on in his life with "many more real stories of real suffering"......MIS, I like your posts, you're a sharp cutter, but I will respectfully disagree with your take on this man's death.
