ESA is a joke... canceled contests... reschedualing... it's bad for buisness and i will never renew my membership.
plus i've seen them change locations for the contest at the last minute (night before) and everyone shows up at the original location and they wonder why no one shows up...
According to the e-mail I just received from ESA, the new directors are unable to keep up with the work load. Perhaps they need some new volunteers. The grom beginner bash and the all girls event are the ones being cancelled.
Yeah. They were doing that crap years ago when I was about 13-15yrs old and competing. They're favorite kids get in 1st and 2nd place and then they throw everything else out the window so that those kids make it to easterns. Or, they just change the location, only tell the people they want to and everyone else gets shafted and doesn't get to compete for any points. They also like to let people judge their best friends or judge the heat with their fav. grom in it. Not very fair if you are young and excited about surfing competitions. Took the wind out of my sail after 2 seasons. Never been to an event since... not even to watch. Screw them. I'm going surfing!!! Looks fun and the life guards just got off.
yeah.... here on the gulf the will have the owners of a certain shop judge all the heats.... somehow the kids that ride for their shop always seem to advance in their heats
they are the most biased fother muckers i've ever seen
i just did the past Malibu's classic and not bragging but i believe i got screwed over they judge you on your best 2 waves and a kid beat me in the finals and he only caught one wave and another kids parents said to me i deserved to win and my judge was a random guy form the crowd playing with his i pod and i don't think i can enter the maryland states because the next comps are canceled

I got mad distance and leverage to the clouds
1.the way the tabulate the scores it is impossible to catch one wave and win.
2.they dont pick random people to judge.
