I could be way off on this, but I hate to say that the tropics could very well slow down to a large dissapointment this year for east coast surfers, at least coming from the cape verdes. Alot of Dust, Dry Air, and the water temps aren't terribly warm in that area, not too mention the shear environment that they have to travel through. Of course it is ever changing and will largely due to the positions of the high Pressures in the atlantic and fronts that shoot off our coast.Looks like another blow up right off the coast of Africa, which more than likely will fizzle and lose convection rapidly. Its way too early to say that, but I would second guess a very active season for the mid july blow up that occured. Ah well, least we can view the WCT boys back in action in Padang for the sik search contest this week: http://live.ripcurl.com/?vividas
wb and you can find me at crystal and sweetwater and all over wb.
i have this feeling that were going to get a tropical storm or a hurricane at the end of august and then the tropics are going to start getting crazy in september to the end of hurricane season. But thats my guess since it's been very quiet recently.
