i just got a pretty minor crack in my firewire resently, fixed it with suncure, but it just doesn't feel the same, more sluggish, may just be me, but i was pretty dissapointed sunday. anyone have any experience with these boards? is this common?
I had a problem with mine were it developed these little holes and bubbled up eventually. i never left it in extreme heat or sun or anything i do not know why it happened.
Dunno...I have never had a problem yet with my Firewire.....Hoping I don't get the same issues you guys are getting. So far I like it....It's one of my favorite boards.
It may have affected the pressure on the inside of the board which would definitely affect performance. The vent is there because the core only weighs one pound instead of the usual three so the board has alot more air than a regular board although it is made of a solid. The vent is supposed to be self regulated but I'm not sure what the effect of a crack would be. I'm curious though, anyone else know?
the problem with firewires is that they sandwhich the foam and lam together so its real easy for them to delam once they take on water and if they take on water they drain slow and because of the construction it can do some weird sh*t to the inside. my guess is that you just didnt let the board drain completely. I had the same problem with mine. It may seem ready to cure but in actualality waters hidding in some funky places.
naa...i had no cracks or dings..it was in great shape..i dont think there was water in it..any board would have broken..it was at least 3 ft overhead and really heavy...i am hoping firewire will give me credit on a board or somethin
