Lightening Up - a word from the Admin

I've had a few contacts about this now and would like to propose a truce.

We will lighten up on moderation when it comes to trolling as long as the other rules are followed. That basically means no porn, and no telling people to kill themselves.

If you would like to see the ban lifted on a long term member who was banned for trolling please contact me via pm and I will discuss it with the mods. The only exception is those that got banned for porn. We can't allow that at all and if they did it once they will do it again.

    Sound reasonable guys?

    Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.

    I think that is accommodating.
Now, keep in mind, while most will go with those regs, there may be a few morons that do not and will always want to challenge any administrative reg, even if the regulation is to have sex with beautiful women 3 times a day.
Just ban them....not the entire forum.
And get seldom seen back on. He just made a simple error in judgement. I doubt he will repeat it. He always was and no doubt will always be a "good citizen". Make it the forums Christmas gift!!

And Merry Christmas to you as well.

Making a deliberately offensive or provocative online posting with the aim of upsetting someone or eliciting an angry response from them.

We use the most basic definition of trolling which we will stop doing and keep it more on a case by case basis.

Let me ask about Seldom Seen. This order comes from my boss who would like to see if lightening up will help get the community back on track, but he made clear that I can't lift the bans on people who posted porn, which Seldom did. A lot of it. I understand error in judgment, but all the same if he does it again the entire forum could be shut down which nobody wants. We can't be a porn magnet.

Seldom's ban has been lifted. If he posts porn again it will be for good with no chance of getting it lifted.

Allow me to "up the ante".
If you allow seldom back on, I am confident he will not repeat it. So, if he does repeat it, then you ban him, and ban me along with him as punishment to me, for insisting he be allowed back on. I will be the sacrificial lamb.
