Ive been to toms cove and was wondering if anyone thought this weekends swell from the northeast would be big enough at all to cause this fickle spot to peel like I hear it can?

I am not sure about that. many have surfed it and have researched it as well. But from my understanding,...>from one of the local park rangers down there, it actually only works on a south swell. I could go on into more info but............
maybe I/he was wrong..........good luck.
these guys are right mooseknuckle. never been there, but the setup dictates a need for some south in the swell direction or a large east.
I've surfed there a bunch, but the swell has to fairly significant to break properly. The wind has to be ne to be offshore, and the swell has to be atleast head high or overhead to be good. But when it's good, it's one of the best breaks around.
Problem is getting there. Big swell usually results in overwash north of the old Coast Guard station, making vehicular passage impossible. The walk is ridiculously long.
However, I'd rather ride waist-high long left glass than head-high washing machine trash....
