    Absolutely nothing. . .

. . . just waiting for the latest swell to clean up, and of course the monthly check via direct deposit. Nothing beats it.

full time freshman student-athlete at the pennsylvania state university...if i can find time to make it to the beach (5 hour drive) on a sunday then i can surf. but that would mean leavin saturday, and if you know anything about college football, you know penn state football is the **** especially if youre a student (#1 student section in the country), so i would have to leave late saturday after the game and return sunday night. plus that would mean missin partying saturday night as well...

Awesome. Good luck and stick with it.

Cool idea for a thread, it's interesting to see how diverse we are. Lot of students. My advice to you all is to stick with it because it's a constant struggle without a college degree, or a solid trade that you commit to. I'm speaking from experience, I'm really starting to have regrets (I'm 27). Be grateful and take full advantage because once you get into the work world, and the way our economy is going, it becomes all about getting by. Which sucks.

As far as I go, I work whatever job will pay my next month of rent & bills. Only thing I could really call myself is a cook, which ironically I'm not doing now. I catered and cooked in Baltimore in my late teens and early twenties and made nice money, but I've found that noone is really willing to pay you around here (ocmd) for hard work. Cooks are a dime a dozen in this town, and with the influx of foreigners that are willing to work for minimum wage (or less), well, it doesn't leave much of a reason to pay for hard work when you can get it for damn near free.

I'm lucky enough to have found a cheap place to live oceanside in ocmd. The glory of taking your coffee mug out to the dawn surf check is priceless...

I have my own business, recession proof, not tied into wall street and all the other B.S. I am a Plan "B" consultant. I am also a wellness coach, and help people Go Green!

I am a father of 1, planning on more, and I surf when ever I can, dp's seem to be the best for me it is a great way to start off the day. I make my own schedule and plan my day around my business, my family, and waves.

Very Interesting... I want to take a look further in this when I get a chance. I take it that you're pretty well off being that you're a father of 1 and plan on more? Congrats...

Hate to be a kill joy but in this economy as things get worse the last thing most people are going to be worried about is going green.

Hah you are wrong there my friend knowledge is everything, Would you ever think that going green could save you money? Going green can save you money in places you would least expect it, all the while protecting your health and our fragile environment. I don't like surfing dirty waves, Do you?
