    js or firewire

    i broke my flexfire a few weeks ago...i am looking at the new firewire direct drive or the js parabolic with carbon fiber rails which is $100 less... any opinions or coments would help

    A buddy of mine snapped a fire wire in half just above the flat stringer thing on the board.
    The foam on the inside looks exactly like cheap polystyrene like found on those throw away coolers. I could be wrong about what type of foam it is.. but it sure looked like polystyrene.

    the js parabolic rails and the firewires sre good boards just ask the shops that have them if they have demo models that you can rent of the same shpae. and what ever one feels better to you buy that one.

    yeah i know..i just snapped mine in half..the foam looks pretty cheap

    First off boards break, unless you buy an NSP or a Bic. I've owned a couple of Firewire boards and was atoked with them both. I've seen how these things are put together and it's pretty amazing. The good thing about the brand is that if your board breaks, and it is some type of company defect, the company will stand behind their product. After 20 years of surfing i've seen boards break from every brand in the business, and if you want to surf a high performance surfboard you are taking a chance of it breaking. And as for the JS carbon railed parabolic, these boards look sick and are amazingly light and responsive, also a great board purchase.

    just wondering how much are those new js parabolic rail boards? But they do look sick.

    well, seeing as how you just broke your firewire, why would you want to get another one.

    try something new, go with the JS.

    firewires are obviously too fragile, get something made of titanium

    firewires

    my firewire got a ding then i fixed it, then it delaminated, caint complain tho, i surfed it for 2 years, thinkin bout gettin a carbon fiber.
