Low developing off the Southeast with high pressure to the north is a winning combination. Keep in mind, the low hasn't developed yet...

Kman, I think those ocean prediction maps are ugly!! I guess they are good for a summary and for copy and paste jobs.

Just FYI - Swellinfo creates pressure maps from the GFS ensemble run, but I used to like looking at the Unisys weather maps:

yea, i like thu radiofax modelz cuz they're ez 2 reed and they give thee overall synapsis uv wut's goin' on in thu next 3 dayz...and that's all i really need, i'm no surf guru or nuthin'...wee all leeve thu trickeey stuff upta u!

any guess as to whether the non-winter surfers/summertime kooks have packed it in for the season yet? the only saving grace of my last season in this sh*thole is sharing waves with only those as nuts/desperate as I am in the winter... thanks for any info

looks like i answered my own question: for the most part, yes, the somewhat heavy conditions today kept most people out of the water that had no place being there, at least where i was surfing

definately didnt see your 5'4" out there today kman - was that because it was 40 miles from the beach? my 6'3" JC came in handy for the third time in its short life (the other two times were on the north shore of oahu last winter).
