Vote YES for Early Voting and YES for Slots.
Everyone should have easy access to vote. Although it is "fun" to all vote on the same day I am not going to be too sentimental about this notion. I recall when voting was conducted by everyone at one time with everyone locked up in the same room/facility for hours. We've come a long way! Washington State uses mail-in ballots only.
I am not voting for slots to benefit education or reduce taxes. I am voting for slots so that Maryland does not lose its thoroughbred racing industry. Maryland is losing market share to Delaware, Pennsylvania and West Virginia because these three states have slots at the race tracks. The horse racing industry provides a large number and a wide variety of jobs in Maryland. I am voting to keep the money and keep the jobs in Maryland.

The answer is no. The slot locations are limited to 5 or 6 specific areas, fairly well bounded geographically: one would be located in Anne Arundel County, within two miles of Route 295; in Baltimore in a nonresidential area within one-half mile of Interstate 95, within one-half mile of Route 295 and on property owned by the city; in Cecil County, within two miles of Interstate 95; in Worcester County, within 1 mile of the intersection of Route 50 and Route 589; and Allegany County, on state property in Rocky Gap State Park. The sites were originally to be restricted to horse racing tracks in direct support of Maryland's significant, and declining, horse racing industry, formerly one of the largest industries in the State. Maryland has lost much of the horse racing industrial base to neighboring states & race tracks in Charles Town, WV, Pennsylvania (Philadelphia Park and Penn National near Harrisburg) and Delaware (Delaware Park), as these have used slots revenues to enhance race purses, including lucrative bred-in-state horse races and supplements.
i hit a trifecta at ocean downs on the first race of the night over the summer...won myself 175....it was enough to pay off the speeding ticket i had just been given
yea I moved here because I couldnt stand seeing my hometown be overrun by yuppies moving up from the metropolitan area of Baltimore., and all the stupid-ass developments and sub-divisons runing the sweet countryside-that sucked.
Plus theres no waves in the middle of maryland
