    Buoys

    There is a new Buoy in front of Long Beach (44065). I was wondering if Swellinfo will add it to the Buoy Map...or it's just useless?

    I'm also curious why they would deploy a new one and yet leave 40004 Hotel to drift around

    excellent find! The new buoy 44065, has now been added to the Buoy maps.

    I'm not sure why they deployed this new buoy, but the more buoys near the coast the better. This new buoy is right around the hudson canyon, and there is a lot of refraction responsible for great surf height variability in this neighborhood. This may be the motivation for the new buoy.

    sick find ditto...keep in mind this bouy will most likely be reading smaller wave heights than both 44025 and 44017 tho...atleest on south swellz...it should b a good LB wind indicator tho 4 when fronts pass there b4 central wrong island...
