I was glad to see Slater win the PipeMasters and cap off an incredible year. No one can say he didn't totally dominate this year. The final heat was boring as the waves just weren't happening. I know a lot of people, including myself, would have loved to see the final go down in macking Pipe with consistent waves, but that is one of the things that makes surfing what it is. I wonder if Kelly would have ridden a 5'-11" in those kind of conditions. Oh well, there is always next year.

yea the final was boring, but his semi-final was rad - came back with a left bomb and another backdoor - sealing the deal with a 9. something and a 10

Thats why hes the best surfer in the world.

Hope he goes for the big #10!
