oh great, someone is pissed off over nothing, again...relax for goodness sake.
Were you there at the time? So since you were not, how do you know much more about anything then me? besides, are there not two poeple in the foreground? Do you not think that if it was that size they would be standing there like that? would not that side be washed over? If you want to call it a once in a lifetime wave then fine, but I give a hoot what facts you speak of, the chance of it happening like that are around nill.
Talk about facts, maybe you need to go back and see how wave size is counted, back or front, side to side, whatever blows your skirt up pal. Is was an opinion, no more no less, and until someone with far more knowledge then you or I speaks up, I will take a guess and say no way that is 30 plus feet.
See, I opened my mouth again,...and nothing has changed, has it.
I see where SC is coming from and can kind of agree, I guess if you have never been there its hard to really tell how big it is because there is no clear point of reference. It is certainly a large wave we can all agree on that but for perspective on a 30foot wave I made this crude pic on photoshop. Lets just say for argument sake this guy is at least 4 feat tall. That would mean this wave is about 32 feet give or take.

thats huge for manasquan. ive only seen it close to that one or two times
I wouldn't say its 30', but I also wouldn't say its 10'. My guess is right around 20' +- a few. I've seen a few storms where there are some pretty nasty waves, not that are rideable, just downright death pits...
well i certainly was not trying to piss no one off,.......in my limited years i have heard the stories about that place being able to hold crazy size due to it breaking so far out? but 30 feet is just crazy talk most any spot on the eastcoast, I would think. Anyway, right off the top of my head, only a few spots have a chance of holding such size on the eastcoast, and those were the ones I spoke of. I might be wrong about those, who knows? Sure nothing to get piss over though. Sorry about my facts, or lack there of..
thats ridiculous, wrightsville can't even hold surf that big, itd just be massive unridable mounds of water rolling to shore
wb can hold MAYBE up to double overhead and thats like a ten foot face, max. and thats rare too.
sorry, have to call bull**** on you for that claim.
I'm not pissed off man...I'm just not feeling great today. Didn't mean to sound so d1ckheaded sry. But, I must say I was in fact there...I was 13 at the time. That pic was taken from Jenks way across the inlet in Pt. [I didn't take it] Like I said if you never been to Manasquan you will not understand. That wave might not be 30 something FT but it sure is close....at least 25FT. Ive been surfing for 24 years. Not saying I know everything....but I have 24 years of experience.
