First of all, Black's IS in LJ ("La Jolla Farms Road"...derp). Second, spring is hit or miss in CA....mostly wind swell and unfavorable winds. But it can still turn on.

LOL... La Jolla is in San Diego Country, kinda "south" county and served by the SD city bus lines. More SD'ish than Trestles and San Onofre!!! Yeah, April is probably the worse month in SD, but... you never know when it will be perfecto.

Black's is kind of half State, half city of San Diego and like a sliver of La Jolla (not incorporated in the city of San Diego), yeah, yeah, I know that don't add up. The La Joola Farms Rd is pretty much just used by the UCSD surf team or people who know them (they have keys to the gate and make the drive down). Everyone else uses the trail head at the top Torrey Pines Glider Port, off Torrey Pines Rd. Torrey Pines is in SD City, but the glider port is part of the state park system as is part of the beach below, the nekkid part. SDCity runs the rest of the beach and that's who mans the lifeguard station.
