So I used the SEARCH tool, and I couldnt really find an answer, but I was having problems with wax. This is for BBers here, but I have a problem of my wax coming off when Im out there for a while, and Im curious as to what types of wax you dudes use for this colder water on a bodyboard?
I wax the crap outta my board before I go out and it usually rubs off. Now, I know theres different deck materials, I ride a Science board (obviously) and its more of a porus surface than, say my older BZ. I never had a problem with the BZ cause that material is more of a smooth surface, but the Science? Much different, more like a Toobs board.
So Im just curios as to what types of wax some of you fellas are using? Something obviously cold water. But just in particular what works well for you dudes. Thanks for the input.
i use mr. zog's navel wax. seems to work the best. i remember reading a while back in bodyboarding magazine that you shouldn't use warm water wax on a bodyboard...never understood why though. Like chuck said, remove your old wax too, that should help. Use warm water and a towel.
I've become a real Sticky Bumps fan, but you do need to match the water temp formulations. I also strip my wax before every airline trip so don't experience too much of the hot vs. cold wax issues. Additionally, I apply wax lengthwise before across the board, and then maybe using a circular motion.
