Thread: Jersey Shore

    Jersey Shore

I just had to move away from O.C. Md for family reasons and was wondering? It looks like Jersey gets more consistant waves than Delmarva and it where Iam now it would take me the same amount of time to drive to Jersey as it would O.C.. Can anyone recommend any good beaches to surf. Keep in mind I know it's home beach to some and keep it respectable. Just looking for a better break.

some swells new jersey gets better than delmarva... there's also a lot of variety in jersey, so you can generally find a wave for any riding style.

it sounds like you live in the northern delaware / philadelphia region. If so, you can essentially get to any break in new jersey for about the same length drive.

South Jersey has some quality waves and can handle the northerly winds better, while the Central Jersey spots can offer a little more punch.

  3. Belmar or bradly beach are two great spots.... so is casino peir in seaside... personally like bradly

Check out the daily surf reports for NJ at www.dukestorm.com and this site. The reports will give you a clue what areas of NJ are breaking best with a given swell direction and what areas are more consistent. Hop in the car and drive to these areas or towns and look for a good break. It's usually breaking at a number of spots in each town so you can easily find a decent uncrowded break with a little driving, When there is surf, you'll find a fun break with a little exploring.

Actually I had to move back to Baltimore so I'm looking at about a 2 1/2 hr. drive. Around Atlantic city. I used to surf assateuge liked the natural bars and lots of room. Any beaches simular in the area.

Okay if not assateuge, I also used to hit 32nd, 43rd street breaks, IRI and Towers, any suggestions, it's gonna take me the same time to commute so I figure mind as well go where it's more consistant.
