You really want to use acrylic paint, but there are some spray enamels made for plastic that I've had work out well. One really easy way to make a quick cool paint job is to get some dish soap and spray paint. Make swirly patterns on the board with the dish soap. Spray around the dish soap. Don't spray too thick. Just enough to get some color and you can fade it out. After the paint dries wash off the soap. Then repeat with another color making different swirly patterns. Just have fun with it. There's a ton of info out there on this. Just do a search online and you will find all different techniques.
if you need some inspiration
John West does some really nice work as well...

has anyone ever painted a bodyboard slick? im planning on getting some posca paint pens and doign goign crazy with it but im scared becuase the slick flexes much more than a surfboard deck. and if i clear coat it will the water still remove the paint?
clean the surface good, and if you want to prevent it from chipping off you can lightly prime it. then paint it, and put a few coats of clearcoat spray on. I painted mine with acrylics once and the only problem I had was it chipping on the nose from summertime shorebreak.
So I want to do some rad designs on my bodyboard. Should I use stain, waterproof paint, or color magic markers?
For bodyboarding the only thing I use is sharpies or graffiti markers. The bottom of the board normally comes off but the top design stays for ever just gets faded.
Sorry for poor quality pics, and if you want a graffiti marker (will take longer to fade) go to http://www.bombingscience.com/
