I was jetboating in the OCM back bays on Sunday and the water temps ranged from 62 inside the inlet, to 68 degrees right behind the convention center. My meek crew kept me from exiting the inlet to check ocean temps, but suffice to say I had to swim (sans wetsuit) to clear my jet pump behind the convention center, and while chilly at first, I got used to it pretty quickly. The good news is with more warm days like Sunday, and continuing cycles of the bay tides, it should start to have an impact soon enough at the mouth of the inlet. Just hit it on an outgoing tide.
