Costa Rica Surf Research and Reports

I guess you are just getting to CR today! Congrats! Have a great trip! If you are checking this at all...make sure you make it down to Nosara (only 2 hours from Tamarindo). Check out www.SurfingNosara.com for all Nosara info, vacation rentals and daily surf reports and photos!

Also go down to Hermosa. Being from the OBX you will appreciate the heavy beach break wave...you'll feel right at home like it's S turns!

You can check surf reports for 7 regions/breaks in Costa Rica at www.surfingcostarica.net. All reports are submitted by locals from each area and have daily surf photos as well. Check it out...great for research and figuring what spot is firing! Have a great trip!

    Pura vida!

This is the report from the central pacific playa hermosa. Its 4 hours south of Tamarindo if you do any travelling but there are many great breaks closer to you...playa grande, little hawaii, witches rock is a great get away by boat. Don't just hang in Tamarindo...get out and explore.

I'm headed back to Witch's Rock Surf Camp in Tamarindo for the sixth time in September. By far the best place in the Guanacaste area. GREAT people, super service, and best price. In September and October, the TOTAL charge for 7 nights (Sat-Sat) is only $595. That includes airport shuttle, all ground transportation, boats, boards, breakfast, beachfront room, and a total surf experience. Check it out at www.witchsrocksurfcamp.com ! NO, I don't work there, just a huge fan. My son (26) will be going back with me for his 4th time, two other friends going with us have been there numerous times also. BTW, I live in Chesapeake VA, so OBX is in easy reach! Flights from Norfolk to Liberia CR are numerous, run $575-$725 avg. In the last 5 trips, surf has been phenomenal, never a day without some rideable swell, some at 2-3X OH.
