Be the wise elder and use the opp to teach what he apparently didn't glean from his surf lessons. If his folks are around have a little chat with them too. If they don't want to listen then chalk it up to YOUR learning experience.

Im assuming that reffers to Frederick, MD. Thats where I was born baby! Amber Meadows Baby!!! Holla!
Its been about 15 years since I've lived there, but I visit my mom out there every now and again. I convinced a few of my buddies from Frederick to Move out to San Diego with me about 8 years ago,... They all made their way back to the 301 by now. But hey, I tought like 5 or 6 guys how to surf while they were out here.... So your not the only one brother, there are other surfers lurking about within frederick city limits!
Although Bunker Weiss and Warchild (aka Lupton Pittman) would have been a nice way to go with slapping the kid around then throwing daddy a beat down I'm a little mellower then that these days. Actually this thread is about as hardcore as I will ever get with it. Although I did show the kid the blood on my hand, growled, then banged it on my board as I road back in to patch up. He was gone when I got back out so maybe he felt bad, or saw the veins pulsating in my temples and fled. Whatever the case may be I think if I do see him again I'll just say,
"Listen you snot-nose little ****, I was takin' shrapnel in Khe Sanh when you were crappin' in your hands and rubbin' it on your face!"

Yes there are 2 die-hard surfers from good ole Fredneck who surf about once a week nearly all year...I car pool down with them about every 4-5 weeks or so (my job isn't quite as flexible as their's plus I've got 2 children to tend to and they don't).
A co-worker of mine (whom is a born/raised Fredneckian as well) has a college bud living out in SD as well whom he keeps in touch with. I really want to get out there sometime soon, I hear SD is awesome (not just surfing but city/culture as well) but have never been to CA (been to Seattle for work and AZ for vacation but never So Cal).

Nice! Small world indeed! My old surf buddy from Frederick is actually back there. He lives off 7th street. By Detrick. I don't think he surfs that much at all, but he goes to OC every few months. I used to drag that kid out into surf that he wanted nothing to do with. But he sure as hell would charge it. Regardless of size or overall well-being, he would recklessly paddle out and go for it. Us frednecks dont play around in the ocean!
And yes, SD is pretty damn awesome. I moved from frederick, to Baltimore... and you can imagine how much I wanted to run away after living in bmore for a while... So, after researching every city in the nation... With surf/weather and and jobs being a close second, I picked SD. I almost moved to Florida to stay closer to MD, but Im really glad I made my way out here. If it wasnt for starting my own family and missing a whole lot back east, we would NEVER consider going back.,.. But sure enough, its looking like after I get married, I may be back east to open a restaurant. Im looking at the Wilmington, NC area though. 5 hours from MD... I do Love OC MD, but its too seaonsal there for my industry.

Well, when someone hits me in the water, I just look to get them back.
Hopefully you will be riding down the line sometime soon, and that little bastard will be right there on the shoulder. That is when you fling your board at him, and give a sarcastic "oh sorry man," after your board (and hopefully fins) slam him in the face.
Or... Next time you see the kid or the Dad, tell them what happened, but be really condicending about it. Make the dad feel like a total old kook (which he probably is), and make the kid feel like a hopeless worthless retard.
