Some new local shapers will be showing and demoing their boards at the Anything But 3 event this year.
the AB3 is a gathering of surfers and shapers to talk about board design & construction, and also give you a chance to try out some sticks from talented local shapers built for the local conditions.
AB3 is Saturday, Sept 26th, Hudson Ave in Harvey Cedars, LBI.

Come check out
Greenlight will also be demoing Sunova Surfboards at the event

Local NJ Shapers?
Sep 16, 2009, 10:06 PM #3
Uh... hey man.. I don't think he was asking if you know of any local shapers in NJ, he was pointing out that the AB3 for the east coast is going on and all of you should be geeked for this thing.
I have been to the one on the west coast every year, as well as the Fish Fry's and Sacred Craft shows. These things rock. Here is the reason... buying a different board with a different design, fin configuration, shaper, and materials is a risky proposistion to most surfers, right? I mean, you wanna play it safe and just get the board that you trust because you only get to buy a new board every year or so and you don't want to blow your annual board buy on something that you are going to hate. Because of this, you never get to ride some of those "exotics" out there and see if they would work for you.
However, by going to these shows I get to ride twins, bonzers (my personal favorite), quads, single fins, finless, hell- even surf mats without having to shell out the cash up front.
Take advantage of this guys, you can try out some incredible shapes and boards at these events and often talk to the shapers first hand about their thoughts on the boards.
Personally, my wife hates it when I go to these.. I might not come home with a new board, but it usually leads to an order on one within weeks after the show.
Top, because this thing rules.

Do any of you actually read before you post?
The original poster is not looking for a NJ shaper... he is pointing out that there are NJ shapers that we willing to let people ride their boards (providing they are not thrusters... it's an anything but three fins expo).
Read, comprehend, then post (only if youi need to-this is NOT a requirement).
On that note, I highly recommend this event if you are in the area. Shoots the one's on the west coast we have peeps fly in from the east coast to attend these. You guys should be all over this.
I really don't know why this thread isn't getting more play. Do you guys ever have these on the east coast? I'm not sure if you guys realize how much fun these things are.

And the waves out front were really fun.
I dont know if you read the thread correctly, but it says "Local NJ shapers". Therefore, I don't understand why you would think posting a link to a local NJ shaper's website is out of line. Ironically, the shapers link I posted was there last year and probably will be there again this year. You should probably just stick to events in CALi....
P.S - On the east coast we don't refer to people as peeps, so unless you want to look a kook, I would just keep quiet
