Best FCS fins

hey guys, i wanted to know what you guys think the best all around fin. Something trhat would work in hollow, clean, mushy, big, tricks, and fast waves. pretty much a fin for everything. i dont know if they make a fcs fin like that but let me know. im going to costa rica this feb and i saw that there were some surfshops around. its probably waayyy cheaper down there, but if for some weird reason its mad expensive then forget it. but let me know what fins are best, or how you like the fins your using.

the FCS FG5. They are blue, with a white figure eight looking symbol on the sides. They make the FG3, FG5 anf FG7.

I use the FG3 in perfectly clean, semismall (waist-chest high) surf to do airs etc in cause the fins release really easy. They are pretty small and turn on a dime...

The FG7s are what I use on my winter big wave boards. And by big wave, im not saying Jaws, I mean a DOH reef break day. They dig in a grip really well, but they dont turn or realease for sh**.

So, the FG5 is what i use in just about every situation unless is super small or really insanely large. The FG5 fins release when you bounce of the lip, they throw a nice spray and they dont dig and drag too much on big quick turns...

So, my final answer would be the FG5s. There was a time when those were the only fins Jamie Obrien was using everyday. I have a video of him where he is surfing 20+ foot pipeline on a semi-short board with the blue FG5s on it, and in the next scene he is busting airs on chest high log cabins with the same fins...

Hope that helps... This is just my opinion, but I have ridden the various FG's for a few years and the FG5s are all around shortboard performance fins. I would approve them in pretty much every condition you will encounter back in the mid-atlantic. There may be a few smaller twin fins days and a couple huge days where you grab a much larger board anyway, but for the most part... you'll love them,

Any hard goods in other countries are going to cost way more than here. Simply that kind of stuff will be more because its not easy for them to get lots of like here; Form Porto to Hossegor surf mecca's their economies are different, but stuff you and I can get without even thinking about just by getting in a car it's a different deal with other countries. Mex I see you selling stuff all the time; if this is your first REAL surf trip I'll hook you up with a set of like new composite FCS G5's. its your perfect all around mid weight performance fin. Don't think I've used them in five years. Mex you deserve some warm water fun (since every wetsuit known to man gives you a rash). Where you headed in CR?

ya someone told me it would be more expensive down there today. but its not the first time ive ben on a good trip. ive been lots of places. and last time i went to costa, i went to the caribean side and it was so small. i wasnt expecting to surf tho. i went to travel around the area.

no one fin is going to do it all, there's trade-offs for everything. and ask for opinions and get a thousand different answers

I misunderstood the question, I was talking about OBX for some reason...

But they are correct, even in Baja Norte, you can't find a decent leash much less a quality pair of fins. I broke both of my leashes (both about a year old, Dakines) down at Calafia one day, then i drove down to Ensenada, purchased the only kind of Leash they sold, and on the first wave I took, it ended up being a closeout barrel and the leash snapped in half, right in the middle, not even on the joint... So, not only is it hard to find surf gear, most of the gear they sell is sh**. The leash said it was Dakine, but it must have been some knock off. It is crap, and as far as fin selection, they had like standard black G5s and 7s. And that is the largest "surf city" on Baja besides Cabo...

So stock up before you leave. or sure.
