    travel bags

well im sure mostof you guys know im going on a trip this feb from all the posts but i have a question about bringing boards..... well, do you think that mt tuflite board would be fine bubble wrapped in a boardbag? and someone told me that i could put a bodyboard in cardboard and tape it to the boardbag and say its extra protection
has anyone ever tried any of this.

with a surftech you do not even need the bubble wrap if you have a decent board bag...i just put then in the bag and never had any problems (I travel at least once a year)
    good luck

thats pretty much what i did, i wrapped my body board in a blanket and bungeed it to my bag after it was all packed up.

fold your wetsuit up and make a good soft base on the bottom. and i wrapped my hood and gloves and boots around the nose and they still busted it up.

bascially just stuff as much soft stuff around the board as you can and hope for the best.

don't listen to this guy...my tuflite got f*cked up by the bastards at American Airlines while wrapped in bubble wrap and a towel. I had 2 boards with broken noses and bad dings on the rails towards the bottom , try to avoid any connect flights and fly direct. Luckily i had a direct flight on the way to the virgin islands and they arrived safely, on the way back i had a connect flight in Miami and I'm pretty sure that's how they got banged up.

i bought a soma and just used it for a trip to costa rica.... 6'6 double bag. its very light, rolls up into a sack, can sleep on it, only thing to worry about is it being punctured. on the way there held up great... no problems. on the way back i had to deflate it some to fit it in hte jumper plane to san jose.... again no problems. on the flight back some how i guess i didnt close the plugs all of the way or they deflated it on the layover flight. i got it back delfated luckley i had 2 aviso's in it and nothing happed... just make sure you close the inflation plugs and its a great bag. if your in nj you can come check mine out. overall i like it a lot and like the concept. great bag.
