I just bought one of the xcel 3/2 x-zips for $156 on whiskey militia. Anyone have one or know if they are a good 3/2?

Think you'll be very pleased. Xcel started the whole chest zip thing - they've got it wired. And they just make quality stuff IMO. An X-Zip 3/2 suit is $300 in the shops, and worth it at that price.

Looks expensive and a little too bourgeois for my style. Cool idea though!

wore a 3/2 all winter in vb, you dont last as long, but with a hood, gloves, booties, on and a well fitted suit, water didnt get into my quicksilver syncro. Im wearing another 3/2 but its an infiniti x zip so no doubt ill be warmer than last winter. The water gets lows 40's and i think last year it got into the high 30's. But ya, i could do 2 hour sessions when it was colder than 30 outside airtemp and howling offshore winds. and all day sessions when its above 40 airtemp,( i run up to my friends beach house and fill up with hot water in between sessions.) But its do able. Its not as bad as you guys might think.

how about in the spring? what kinda suit you guys wear when the air temps start getting warmer but waters still pretty cold.

i need a new suit and im debating between a 4/3 and a 3/2. i dont surf at all in the winter (snowboarding time ) so i really only wear the suit in the fall and spring.
