its def. a heated topic but i'd say its more of a stupid topic... if someone is out in the line up, charging hard and showing respect, it really doesnt matter what they are riding...keep the narrow minded, drunk ass comments to yourself... it's people like you who bring the unwanted negativity to the line up and the message boards...
not sure if it has ever occured to you, but surfers all do the same thing too, besides a few that can do ariels, its carve back and forth on 3 ft mushburgers and call it epic.... its all just subjective to what you like to do, and if you actually stoped to watch bbers and realize they are charging or watch a bbing vid, you might actually realize these guys charge harder and ride heavier things that you will ever see, let alone ride in your life....dont hate on bbers and talk about how thier lives are in the gutter just because yours is....
First off:
thanks for bringing a heated debate to the forumI was starting to get concerned that this was the cleanest forum around with no hatred or slamming each other- j/k! A surf forum without any trash talking, whos heard of that...
Someone has posted this topic in just about every surf forum there is. I just have one suggestion for you Boner, and that is to get the MIA dvd, which is an all east coast bodyboarder vid. If watching some of the best bodyboarders on the east coast in some truly sick east coast surf doesn't change your mind, than prob nothing will. If you want a copy, let me know, I'll send it to you for FREE ($30 retail)!
Dude you shouldn't be allowed to surf with a mindset like that. You have no respect. Bodyboarders can do things on waves that you never will. A lot of bodyboarders can surf too but choose to bodyboard. Wake the hell up. We don't bodyboard because we can't surf, we bodyboard because thats what we like to do. I admit it is easy for any kid off the street to pick up a bodyboard and crowd lineups, but the ones who have put in their time and charge when surfers are standing on the beach watching, or when we are paddle into waves that surfers are towing into, give us some respect. Let's see some footage of you ripping it up on a surfboard, not doing the same things wave after wave. And as for all bodyboarders lives being in the ****ter, don't make such broad statements about a group of people you know nothing about. All my friends who bodyboard are doing quite well for themselves. Anyway thanks for pissing me off, hope you accomplished what you were trying to do.
BonerSurfs, considering you are from VB & the lack of power in your local breaks for waves that bodyboarders prefer I can almost see your point. I lived & rode there for a year & luckily you have the option to head south to Hatteras. The funny thing is you made the comment that you are a typical surfer as if representing them as a spokesperson. As BBERS we are used to such comments & could really care less knowing we could strive to progress to your surfer status. Hold on to that mindset & continue to be jealous of the sponger species for getting all your good waves. I get along with pretty much everyone in the water regardless of wave riding vehicle preference provided they show the same. On my way to Hatteras I for sure will skip by VB so you can get some waves, but once in Hatteras your on your own & be reminded of how much you hate BBERS when you see me slotted in "YOUR" barrel.![]()
First of all Boner, your name makes no sense being that your mind is so limp.
Bodyboarders tend to be humble, quiet, patient people, so learn to respect that instead of trying to win pissing contests and screw peoples girlfriends... not cool. I do have one question for you, though. Have you ever heard the name George Greenough? He may not have been a bodyboarder, per se, but he was a crucial part of the shortboard revolution who realized the fact all waveriders do at some point in their life. This fact is that it doesn't matter what you ride. He rode his mats most of his life and from the footage I've seen he CHARGED. Watch "The innermost limits of pure fun" and you'll see him ripping on one of his spoons. He is my biggest inspiration as far as surfing goes and the funny thing is he gave up stand up surfing a long time ago.
I can't blame you though, I got a little juiced and threw up at the mouth on the oc inlet forum a while ago... so no harm, no foul. I think you should just learn a little bit about your sport before you go putting people down, because in this case every REAL waverider is laughing at your immaturity. And your spitting on the godfathers of bodyboarding, surfing, and kneeboarding, and I'm sure they don't appreciate that. Oh yeah and I wouldn't talk that **** around Delaware, cuz the b.boarders up there will put you in your place. Good luck with that ego issue of yours. Peace.

Well spoken Chuck and in Hatteras, if he were to make this statement around the local crew, he may not make it back to VB to surf crappy weak 1st street. I used to sponge Croatan in the 80’s but more often than not we went south. I only paddled out at 1st street for ECSC or ESA stuff. There is a solid boogie crew our age from VB and a few live down south now and have for many years.
So far this forum has been friendly and informative with none of the adolescent chest-thumping antics that pollute so many other surf related boards. Boner - your post was totally out of line - I suggest a quick mea culpa and a sobriety period next time prior to clicking the "send" button. Nobody needs to hate anybody on an electronic forum!
umm may i also remind you boner..if that is your real name..
us bbers have discovered some of your surfing meccas
teauhpoo, the box, ours, cyclops, the list could go on and on.
and also alot of surfers started as bbers, roach, kianoa mcgee(who charges pipe dk)and everyones favorite kelly slater
the reason i choose to bb and not surf is i live in delaware, we dont have "surfing" waves
ive seen three people my whole life try to surf dumps just to break something. so if you ever saw real bbers you may change your mind.
so go away and be gay
