i enjoyed the boathouse when i lived up that way. now i'm down in ocean city & attempting to keep my favorite bar secret as long as possible. all i will say is that it is strathmere.

& when i lived in avalon, i liked the princeton, but that was before they gutted it & refurbished it, yuppie style.

There isnt any secret bars in Strathmere. That place is so small I can stand on one side and take a leak on the other side. LOL

I use to like the Triton Tavern before that renavated it now its call Lavaris

maybe not a secret in the usual sense of the word, but no need to go flap my gums about it needlessly. it already gets too crowded in the summer.

oh, & i like gregory's & the anchorage in somers point as well.

Dude that place is sooo yuppie. I was in there like 3 years ago and some guy was trying to buy drinks for me and my wife, telling us he owns the House of Blues. We passed on the roofie-coladas.

The Parker House is a snobitorium if you go there at the wrong time. If you catch the right time, that place is pretty cool.

that's my point & why i don't go there anymore. you go back 6 or 7 years & the place was fantastic...as close to a dive/locals bar as you could get & still be in avalon (or any other beach town). the guys i used to work construction w/ in the summers would go there for lunch; they'd have a 6-pack w/ a sandwich & shoot some pool, then come back to the site & pound nails the rest of the day.
