So, I bought the Yoga for surfers DVD like 3 years ago and did it a fwe times. Really worked well. I somehow lost the DVD and don't feel like re-purchasing it. Does anyone know any free online resources that layout some basic yoga stretching for surfing. Mainly for the leg areas.... I know how to do normal stretching, Im just wondering if there are any things online that have the yoga stretching that Yoga for surfing did... Anyone have some knowledge to kick?
i asked this same question but about bbing and ppl gave me **** for it, but i would like to know some too. do them have them on demand?
not that I know of. But my on demand is different. Its through cox communications. But like I said, I had the beginner video, and it was mostly normal stretches that aren't that intense, but the way they put it together, when you do some of them, you are like on your back and they have you roll your body a certain way, and you can just feel your back muscles and spine release a ton of pressure. So, its mostly basic strectching, but the way they incorporate the yoga side of the progression makes it good. I have googled this a bunch, but there aren't any real free resources on line of Yoga geared toward surfers. The general concensus seems to be that the Yoga for Surfing DVDs are perfect, so why er-invent the wheel. Its all like 50 different links that eventually lead you back to purchasing the DVD. I tore my house up looking for it. Still in here somewhere, but I cant find it.
I would reccommend taking a yoga class, if you have the time... I find that you get much more out of it... But, that is just me personally. Almost everywhere has yoga classes, so they are pretty easy to find.
I was looking into Yoga Classes and I found the best price at 10 classes 100 dollars classes . I dont know how long the classed run but, I have seen great review on the about some the teachers in my area. Plus I would rather have someone teaching me rather than watchin a video cause it you are doing something slighty wrong you wouldnt know if you were just watchin a dvd. A teacher would be able to show what you are doing wrong and it can prevent injury.
Yeah pretty much....but if you don't know the basics then 2, 3 are gonna be more difficult.
I've done the sequences of #1 every morning for two years now. For me it's less about the Yoga and more about basic practical stretching, which is all I'm looking for. I like that it touches on a few of the most classic poses in Yoga and also concludes with a little bit of meditation, but if you're looking for a good stretch routine it's definitely for you. If you're looking for more actual Yoga then yeah, you're gonna want #2 and #3.
And I agree with SwellInfo about taking classes, mostly because there's just no DVD substitute for a fine yogini down-dogging in yer face.
