    tides????

every website has a different time for tides...and they arent even close.
swellinfo hightide for lbi is 4:00 am today
surfline hightide for lbi is 7:30 am today
    they arent even close
the tide is just as important as the swell and the wind when it comes to surfing conditions but who to trust???

Swellinfo is reading the same as NOAA, so I would say Surfline is confused.

Surfline is a joke for reports...unless you live in CA. I only use the site for surf news, pics & vids. Other than that...... it's a pretty useless site.

I've seen SO many days when surfline just said "flat/poor", and i went to the beach and it was at least waist high and cranking.

btw, does anyone know how they write those reports??Do they actually have some local going to the beach every morning? or is it just some dude in an office somewhere staring at the cam?

  5. I think the guy that does Belmar and all these beaches locally really go down there right before sun rise. But I don't think they go to eachspot they have listed I'm sure Kurt don't go to Belmar, then AC, and other spots I think he goes to one and basies the rest of the cams or other people he knows. Or just guessing by the way the wind direction/speed/ and waves are in one spot.

Most accurate tide data on the internet:

    http://saltwatertides.com/dynamic.di...rseysites.html

    As for reliable reports, check:

    http://dukestorm.com/reports.php

All reports are eyes-on. There's usually at least one report every weekday posted before 7am.

I think the best conditions I've ever seen on surfline for the mid-atlantic is "fair to good" during Hurricane Bill. Surfline does have decent cams though.

Yeah i remember one day last year or two years ago, i was sitting in my highschool study hall. . . dreaming of the weekend when i could cruise down to the beach. I think it was a wednesday or thursday... i go on to check the swell on surfline (didn't know about this site yet) and the conditions for friday were EPIC i called my mom then and there and told her i was going regardless of what she said... but the car was broken and i couldn't use my mom's car... the beach is was two hours away... i wanted to kill myself that day. My friend went and i saw the pictures... i almost cried

If you have an iphone, the Tide Graph application is legit too, provides a huge tide table for the month. I like to know that until March 4th, we are gonna have some very low tides in afternoon.
