i have a fcs leash and i like it. the only problem i did was i accidentally grabbed the comp leash and that can only hold a certain size of wave and i wanted the one that can hold as big as like over head since thats what we would get that i would go surfing in. but when i have been surfing in the bigger stuff with the comp leash i have had no problems with it.

I never wrap my leash around my board anymore in fear it will make it more twisted, but no matter what my leash is always wrapped around my legs in the water, i f***ing hate it. has anyone tried the leashes with the little ball on it to make it not get tangeled? i need to try it out. oh by the way Zach, i probably go through 1-2 leashes a year, and my favorite i guess are fcs or dakine comp.
The ball that you speak of is the exact piece that I break all the time. It is like a metal ball berring and it rusts and eventually breaks. I mean, its metal that you take under salt water every day... So yes, all my leashes currently have this so they don't tangle. And in the summer when its not crowded I wont wear one at all. But that ball berring breaks if you use the leash a lot....

I guess that is a good point too WBsurfer... I have quite a few comp leashes... Maybe I should get like a 6-7 foot long board leash or something for big winter surf... something that can take a little pull without snapping.... I broke a Dakine leash at La Fonda one morning. Drove down to Ensenada for the erest of the day, had to buy a leash from Sun Miguels. Its one of two shops in the whole city.... So, anyway, I buy this $15 FCS "Comp" leash... No sh**, it was a couple feet over ehad at la fonda the next morning, first wave I pulled into was a close out barrel. Leash snapped right in the middle First wave EVER ridden with the new leash....

Although I did have a feeling that since I bought it in mexico, there was somehow a much lesser quality leash. It said FCS on it and everything, but I just had this sneaking suspicious that some warehouse in TJ pumps out fake FCS leashes filled with leads and bad plastic... who knows....

I mean, whats the point in a comp leash anyway? they seem pointless to me.. I know they are lighter, but not enough to sacrifice the whole reason you wear a leash.

I'm pretty satisfied with the FCS leash "non-comp" leash that I have. Beem using since the summer and haven't had any problems. Although I had an OAM comp leash before that and the velcro was too weak and kept getting ripped off my ankle. So OAM leashes aren't too good.

I have always used either Dakine or Xm leashes. I never broke a Dakine but, I broke 2 XM's but it was in overhead surf

I used magma a few times over the summer and liked it. I just got another few bars 2 days ago and i still think its really good. Not as good as sex wax but still really good

    3 types

I prefer ( in this order ) sticky bumps, bubblegum and mrs palmers. Sex wax sucks soooo bad. Plus stickybumps is non-toxic if ur curious bout eating it. : /

    Leash

I have a tangle-free XM leash. They're pretty sick. It's a covered metal washer that doesn't rust. You can do the quick fix and throw a stainless steel washer on your leash if you don't wanna buy a new one.

I have been using Magma for 2 years now....My boy used to be the rep....this is the deal

X-trak bought the design from another company. They never invented it.

The stuff usually works great if you use the right temp.

Super grippy? hell yeah good for sticking those airs.

I like this wax but there are a few things I don't like...

like the packaging....I have to rip it apart to get it out.

    wears off quickly...

Other then that I don't get what you people are saying....this is the best wax I have ever used.
