Hate to complain man, but damn, can't remember the last time we had a decent swell in the southeast. Central Fl , Hatteras and north bound might have seen a little..Easy to lose your stoke and drop the boards for good and pick up another hobby if these very long spells keep up.

The price of crude oil has been trending downward lately:

Anyway, I remember two summers ago when gas was $4.00/gallon and there were still plenty of tourists.

Personally, I don't care if gas goes to $10/gallon. They need to get this oil leak fixed ASAP. It is a friggin' disgrace that they have no clue how to fix this thing after it's been gushing for three weeks.

    Yeah BP!

A simple cut-off switch would have kept this crap from spewing for so long. But could they afford such a little switch!? Hell no! Yeah, let's keep on drilling off our shores!!!! Great idea Obama! Ridiculous.....

dude, i definitely don't see my 5'9 "most fun i can possible have machine" being traded for some running shoes anywhere in my future. there has been times in the past where an el nino pattern goes straight into a la nina bringing a solid atlantic tropical season. as well as shutting down the swell for those ungrateful, tight pants wearing, girlie-men on the left coast.

"We believe it is unlikely (the tarballs) are from the Gulf oil spill, but we'll know for sure in a couple of days. While we are concerned about what will happen, we are trying to keep a positive attitude," Key West Mayor Craig Cates said.

This quote is brilliant..."unlikely the tarballs are from the Gulf oil spill"? Is there another spill out there? So, these balls are normally there? I have heard people go to Key West to see balls, but I doubt they are referring to an oil slick on the beach in front of Margaritaville!

SERIOUSLY. If it isn't from the oil spill what do we not know?! Should be just expect tar balls to wash up on the beaches every now and then?!

It seems Miss Atlantic gave us a show today. It was a beautiful day at Wrightsville with awesome clean chest high sets rolling in with the occasional larger wave. The wate is so clear(and getting quite warm) and the sand so white. NO TAR BALLS or ANY OTHER CRAP PLEASE! I love it here and don't want anything to blacken it.
