Oh god, and don't forget Hawaii with all of those Hawaiians!
It's much better now than in years past. When I was a kid I got staph infections from surfing beaches where untreated sewage was discharged straight into the ocean. They put a stop to that shortly after, but there was a time, not too long ago, that it was legal.
Then they tackled ocean dumping.... which was the source of needles on the beaches. During that time, the mob was dumping barges full of trash, including medical waste, just offshore, rather than paying the tipping fees for proper disposal. I found a needle in Belmar one summer, then found FOUR in one summer right here in my home town... one of them I found with my foot. That caused me to be treated for hep and get tested for AIDS and get liver enzyme tests every couple months for a year after that.
Now I know you don't live on the OBX. Everybody knows OBX tourism is down. If you're living in the OBX and telling people to stop coming, you're either living off of mommy and daddy or independently rich. Given the way you post, the latter is definately out of the question.
You do have an active imagination, though. I guess that's the positive side of having nothing but empty Skoal cans to play with as a kid.
