Swell Info Screwed Up My Life Again

Close call today, Mr. Swell Info. The swell forecast was on the money but boy-oh-boy, the reporting of water temps nearly killed me. Thankfully, I passed on my favorite speedo swimsuit, as I sorted through my rubber gear early this morning, and brought my spring suit and .5mm fin socks. It was one nut freezing chilly water (well, both would have been frozen). A 3/2 or even a 2/1 fullsuit would have done the trick. Reading the forums was the make-or-break!

good to know we got something right! The OCMD water temp is currently being read from 44009. We used some of the nearshore water temps in the past, but any of the readings will be in error on different ocean current scenarios.

Felt like the lower 60s today. Malibu's is reporting 61F.

Funny..i was just going to post the same thing as Rod. Surfed Delaware at dawn and again after work...two different spots. Your forecast was right on...knee to waist high with maybe an occasional stomach set.

By the way, delaware didnt have any of the water temp issues as OCMD. Skinned it at 5:30 a.m. and again at 5 p.m. comfy...no way the water was below 70.

Zach..the water temps are in flux..i surfed OC inlet twice last week and def the water was 75 both times...it was WARM.

I had a blast today on the quad tomorrow I will have to take a log out I think . It has been a long time since I had a pre work session
