Too Much Sealife?

Funny you should mention skates. I was out at the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse this morning and I saw a skate about 4 feet wide leap several feet out of the water like it was flying. I have never seen anything like that before anywhere.

i saw this in costa rica last year when i was the only one in the line up for like 200 yards and ive never been so scared in my life at first i had no idea what it was and i paddled harder than i ever had before to the beach. it couldve been a stingray though b.c i dont think they have skates in costa i could be wrong

Yes I saw alot of sealife around Assateague. I surfed over a bunch of skates on takeoffs. They're cool to watch surf as well. A little freaky but cool! They look so much like sand sharks because of their color. Thank goodness for all the dolphins. Master surfers. Havnt seen any jellies yet except a few dead ones. The ocean needs them as a part of the chain but they're annoying.
