    Jacksonville

I am thinkin of possibly moving to Jacksonville for a business opportunity, and whether or not the area has good surf will be a deciding factor in me going, is there anyone who can let me know. Not askin for any spot locations just wanna know if its better than NC,SC, or (GA , which I here has none). Thanks

As far as east coast comparisons, I'd say it trumps SC and GA, not as good as OBX, and similar to Southern NC. It has a pretty booming surf population and a pretty good place to live.

  3. i say move to a surrounding town, jax blows, full of goons

I live at jax beach now. Surf can be great at times. If you can deal with periodic flat spells you'll be alright. Oh and definitely get yourself a longboard. There are more small LB days than anything else.

I lived there for 20 years. The surf isn't bad. But, alittle ways south in Ponte Vedra theres some good pretty consistent surf. Micklers, Crossroads, Blowhole, all good spots. I havent been there in years though so I don't know how populated it is now. It used to be in the sticks.

    yeah...

I agree with the first comment. Better than SC and GA but NC might be some of the best surf on the east coast so.... There are a lot of people in the water here but spots are spread out enough to where you can find a lonely peak. I've had some of the best waves of my life here and I've been all over Central America. I've also had the worst waves too. Great place to live though! GO JAGS!!!
