Obviously not. I thought you meant central jersey vs southern jersey. Don't know NJ towns. That's what's call a "swell shadow" then. Long period juice being sucked and amplified into one spot, leaving the other places in a "shadow" ie no waves.

longer period swells will always create more variability, because they are much more influenced by the ocean bottom causing refraction focusing energy towards some areas and away from others.

the forecast data looks is close to what is showing buoy data, but a bit of an overcall this afternoon for some areas.

But, for most areas, the spots that are or are not working today, will likely be the spots they will or will not work tomorrow.

Pretty much exactly as surf-forecast called it.
I was in Strathmere around noon and it was pretty much all closeouts and got real choppy. Guess the morning was better. How do u feel about Strathmere now? I'm starting to hate going there. It is always a long ass paddle out. I think the dredging really hosed it.

Yeah, the morning was leagues better; between 7 and about 11, it was really fun. By about 11:30, it started to closeout more often than not. It got fairly clean again by about 3 but by that point, I was over it. I don't see myself heading back there tomorrow.

Strathmere is okay in my opinion. It is like any other mediocre spot. Nothing too special but it doesn't suck either. For this morning's conditions, I think it was fine. Lately, when I am there, I stay at a spot that is closer to SIC rather than the north end which I am guessing is where you are talking about. And yeah, that is a long ass paddle out.

Hurricane swells are the most fickle swells of all. So for hurricane swells I get excited when I'm standing on the beach and the waves are actually good. Like Swellinfo said, there are a lot more variables when it's super long period (and beaches react different - generally worse in DE/MD to 14 + second swell then they do to shorter period intervals).

At this point even if it was closed out walls most of us would not care got to be at least one spot on Delmarva working local are sick of the getting burnt barely a real chest high swell the whole summer I do not even care if it is unridable as long as
some dam push and siZe shows

    Well

...down here in VA Beach, I will say that the surf was marginal, but the Reef Girl 2010 contest at ECSC went off very nicely!
