i'm thinking about a trip to liberia (the country in west africa, not the city in costa rica). anybody on here been or know anything about it? sick looking breaks (and still undeveloped) but getting to them seems like it might be kind of sketch. any first-hand experiences?

I think there's still some political unrest in Liberia - might not be as safe as some other spots (point of trivia: Liberia is the only country in the world (cept the US) that has a capital city named after a US president - Bushville! - (kidding) their capital city is Monrovia, in honor of Prez. James Monroe)

I deployed to Africa over the summer. Anything on the west coast is.Very.Very.Very.Very DANGEROUS. So be very mindful of that if you do decide to go there. When I went surfing in Durban we had to be briefed and run chits just to go to the beach. On the bus ride there we saw a legit in progress raping. **** was ridiculous
I am sure the surf is sick... but there is a reason why it hasn't been traversed by many surfers...
