what u guys think bout this?
It's all about keeping out the "flush." Without being flushed constantly, I can stay out at least twice as long.
Anyone have any experience with hyperflex wetsuits? I was thinking about getting a 4/3 at the end of winter.
I was looking at the AMP and AMP K, both chest zip. It says the amp k is more of "wind sport" wetsuit, but does that really matter? will it be fine for surfing
just ordered a 4/3 amp. I'll let you know how it is once some waves show up....could be a while![]()
thanks jon, I won't be ordering a new suit until march so I'm pretty sure you'll have yours by then haha
Just had a session in a new suit and thought id share a review. This suit was purchased as a replacement for my xcel infinity 4/3 that iv had for about 4 years. GREAT suit so I just wanted a legit replacement. Let me tell you , xcel has done a lot of work since then..
I decided against the drylock after (attempting to) try one on. I have thicker than average wrists and the dry lock cuffs made my hands turn purple. No Bueno. So I tried on their mid-entry level model and was presently surprised.
I surfed it on 1/19 in vb for a hellofa swell. Water temp was 38 degrees, air was 41. I also had on an oniell hooded vest (vest part was maybe 1.5 mil thick, tops). Very little flushing and I love the little refinements to the chest zip system. Smaller zipper = less flushing. I surfed for 1.5-2 hours and the limiting factor was my boots. My body was nice and toasty, with thicker boots i could have surfed all day. Really flexible suit and fairly easy to get in and out of.
I give it 5 stars considering it was under $200 new. It could hang in 38degree water and it seemed flexible and light enough to wear on those 3/2 days. SCORE.
Oh yeah, i love that thermo-bamboo stuff too. Its no wool lining (patagonia) but it wasnt $600 either...

I have a MT 5/4/3 Patagonia R4 for sale. $493 (20% OFF, Reg-$625). It has only been worn ONCE! Warmer then my Xcel Drylock by far. Tags are re-attatched because my arms ended up being to long (sleeves to short for my lanky ass). I am 6'1'', but I have super long monkey arms.

Does anyone have a quicksilver syncro 4/3 review? I tried a xcel chest zip at wrv, felt good once you get it on .taking it off is just as hard. can only Imagine how hard when your hands are numb.
