Wetsuit question

I'm a beginner in Long Island and have a 3/2 wetsuit. Is it time to get a thicker suit or is it still warm enough for the 3/2?

its certainly doable but you'll be more comfortable in a thicker suit

boots are good, gloves in my opinion kinda make you lose feeling when ur paddling, on the other hand there are gloves that have alot of webbing and can make you paddle faster. if you want to stay warm get a hood and boots

wetsuit options

I am now using my 4/3 with a Polyolefin Hooded Long Sleeve Shirt underneath.... so it is an extra layer under the wetsuit, and has a 3 mm hood (you can find on amazon....). and you need 5 mm gloves and boots..you can probably extend the 3/2 with that, though it is getting colder now and a 4/3 would really be the one for now...
I stay in with all the above for about 2 hours, with 3 mm gloves and boots, and then will progress to a 5 mm glove and boot, and separate 5mm hood... until I break in the new 5/4/3 The water is still relatively warm, around 58 or so...you just need to figure out how to layer or add to what you have or else buy a hooded 5/4.....that will be needed soon enough...
just my opinion and what I'm trying to work with...hope it helps....

surfed all weekend with a 3/2, winter boots and gloves..The first few duck-dives were a little rough but after the initial shock I was fine..threw on the hood for the evening session cause it was a little windy. Especially if the sun is out and its not super windy, you will be fine with all of that for another few weeks. if you have a one mill rash guard you can throw that on underneath your wetsuit for another layer...ill do anything to not wear a winter suit especially since mine SUCKS/has some holes now...

it all depends where you live. in a 3/2 in rhode island, your not going to last much longer. this past weekend was also a warm one. if you live in new england and you want to surf all winter you at least need to get a 4/3
