California set to crack!

Southern California has been in quite a lull so far this winter, but relief is on the way to SoCal and the rest of the California coast.

A strong, well defined low pressure system is currently sitting south of the Aleutian Islands, and stirring up a lot of swell in the North Pacific. The Hawaiian Islands are currently seeing strong N/NW swell, but also a lot of wind and weather due to the close proximity of the storm to the Islands. Fortunately, the wind and weather are look excellent for the California coastline as W/WNW swells from this system move in for the coming weekend.

Many areas in Southern California are going to see plenty of head high range surf, while standout spots are likely to see 6 to 8 foot surf. Central and Northern California breaks will receive more size with overhead to double overhead waves for exposed areas, while big wave breaks go XXL.
