Hurricane Ike is currently sitting about 150 miles southwest of Galveston Texas with maximum sustained winds of 105mph. Ike is a strong Category 2 storm, but the biggest danger with Ike will be storm surge along the Northern Texas and Southwest Louisianna coastlines.
While Texas braces for Ike, the Florida Gulf coast has seen outstanding surf over the last couple of days. Ike Swells toward Florida will be on the fade through the weekend.
