Swellinfo has released 5 forecast locations in Puerto Rico and a high resolution wave model specifically for the gem of the Caribbean. Forecast locations include 2 on the north coast (San Juan and Arecibo), 3 on the west/northwest coast (Aguadilla, Rincon - north, Rincon - south), and 1 forecast for the Southeast coast of Puerto Rico. The release of the Puerto Rico forecasts comes in perfect timing as one of the biggest N swells of the winter looks to impact the Caribbean Islands this week.
A strong low pressure moved off the US East Coast on Sunday and is anticipated to strengthen greatly in the Central Atlantic waters. This will produce a very healthy N swell which will fill in rapidly to Puerto Rico North and West coast beaches during the day on Wednesday and peak late Wednesday into Thursday. Puerto Rico has seen a fair stretch of small surf in March, but this week will see a drastic change.
