3-4ft Waist to chest high waves with fair to good shape. The surf picked up a bit this morning. There were some fun peaks on the incoming tide, but the 4th of July crowds were a little overwhelming. The winds were offshore, making for good surfing conditions despite the crowds. The weather is sunny with some clouds and looks like a beautiful day to go surfing. We had an early morning low tide of 2.16ft @ 6:20am moving up to a high tide of 8.20ft @ 12:41pm, and then, dropping back down to a low tide of 1.40ft @ 7:06pm this evening. If you are planning a trip to Costa Rica or Central America and want more surfing information, contact us at Info@UnaOla.com or give us a call at 1-888-958-SURF.

3-4ft Waist to chest high waves with fair to good shape. The surf looked fun this morning. There were some fun peaks on the incoming tide making for a good surf session. The main peak was closing out a little at report time, but should become more makeable on the high tide. The winds were very light with an offshore flow, helping to create glassy surfing conditions. The weather is sunny with some clouds and looks like a beautiful day to go surfing. We had an early morning low tide of 1.76ft @ 4:19am moving up to a high tide of 8.38ft @ 10:48am, and then, dropping back down to a low tide of 1.53ft @ 5:13pm this evening. If you are planning a trip to Costa Rica or Central America and want more surfing information, contact us at Info@UnaOla.com or give us a call at 1-888-958-SURF.

5-6ft Shoulder to head high waves with good shape. The surf was good this morning. The beach was firing with peaky waves early, making for a super fun surf session. The winds were light offshore, helping to create clean surfing conditions. The peak high tide brought mushier conditions, but it was still very rippable. We had an early morning low tide of 1.32ft @ 3:19am moving up to a high tide of 8.66ft @ 9:49am, and then, dropping back down to a low tide of 1.40ft @ 4:10pm this afternoon. If you are planning a trip to Costa Rica or Central America and want more surfing information, contact us at Info@UnaOla.com or give us a call at 1-888-958-SURF.

6-7ft Head high plus waves with good shape. The surf was pumping this morning. The beach was firing with hollow waves early, making for a good surf session. The winds were light offshore, helping to create clean surfing conditions. Due to the sloping shoreline, there was still a little backwash at the peak high tide. We had an early morning high tide of 9.01ft @ 8:51am dropping back down to a low tide of 1.12ft @ 3:08pm, and then, moving up to a high tide of 7.81ft @ 9:20pm this evening. If you are planning a trip to Costa Rica or Central America and want more surfing information, contact us at Info@UnaOla.com or give us a call at 1-888-958-SURF.

5-7ft Shoulder to head high plus surf with and fair to good shape. The waves looked good this morning. The extreme tidal swing is still creating a lot of backwash at the peak high tide and making for a short window of about an hour of prime surfing conditions, before shutting down completely. There was also a fair bit of current. The wind was glassy and light offshore. The rights were working best with lined up conditions. We had an early morning high tide of 9.89ft @ 6:08am dropping back down to a low tide of 0.08ft @ 12:15pm, and then, moving up to a high tide of 9.36ft @ 6:28pm this evening. 4-6ft Chest to head high surf with some larger sets and poor to fair shape.A new swell arrived this morning and continued to build throughout the day. The waves were decent, but the swell brought with it a bunch of current that made it difficult to get into the better ones. The wind stayed favorable (glassy and light) all day, but the waves were still closing out a bit.We had an early morning low tide of 0.78ft @ 7:42am moving up to a high tide of 9.57ft @ 2:03pm and then dropping back down to a low tide of -0.16ft @ 8:22pm this afternoon. If you are planning a trip to Costa Rica or Central America and want more surfing information, contact us at Info@UnaOla.com or give us a call at 1-888-958-SURF.

3-4ft Chest to shoulder high surf with good shape. The surf looked good this morning on the rising tide with glassy conditions until about 1:00pm. The waves were peaky with some hollow tubing sections. The backwash appeared again at the peak high tide, but, it was still surfable during the dropping tide, even with a little wind on it.We had an early morning low tide of 1.51ft @ 5:45am moving up to a high tide of 8.82ft @ 1:13pm and then dropping back down to a low tide of .77ft @ 6:34pm this afternoon. If you are planning a trip to Costa Rica or Central America and want more surfing information, contact us at Info@UnaOla.com or give us a call at 1-888-958-SURF.

4-6ft Chest to to head high surf with fair to good shape. The surf was super fun this morning on the rising tide with clean glassy conditions and a light offshore flow until about 11:00am. There was a bit of backwash at the peak high tide, but, all in all, it was a fun day to go surfing in Playa Grande. The evening session was a little bumpy, but otherwise quite surfable. We had an morning high tide of 7.96ft @ 8:39am moving down to a low tide of 1.86ft @ 2:50pm and then coming back up to a high tide of 7.08ft @ 9:01pm this evening. If you are planning a trip to Costa Rica or Central America and want more surfing information, contact us at Info@UnaOla.com or give us a call at 1-888-958-SURF.

5-7ft Shoulder high to head high plus surf with poor to fair shape. The surf wasn't quite doing it again this morning. The wind was on it early. There were some nuggets, but it was very difficult to find the good ones, as it was fickle and mostly closing out. No one out for most of rising tide, but then a few people paddled, but not too many getting good rides. It was a bit bumpy and just didn't look that inviting. Just so you know, I'm becoming a bit of a wave snob these days.We had an early morning high tide of 7.97ft @ 7:54am moving down to a low tide of 1.86ft @ 1:59pm and then coming back up to a high tide of 7.25ft @ 8:10pm this evening. If you are planning a trip to Costa Rica or Central America and want more surfing information, contact us at Info@UnaOla.com or give us a call at 1-888-958-SURF.

Playa Grande, CR:
5-8ft Shoulder high to overhead surf with poor shape. The swell dropped a little overnight. Still, there was way too much swell and weather for this beach. Mostly walled and closeout waves this morning with bumpy, choppy blown-out conditions. The swell still pushing a bunch of current through the lineup. The wind was onshore by 8:00am.The Tamarindo Estuary had head high waves this morning with fair to good shape and it looks like the outer reefs were firing again today. We had an early morning high tide of 8.03ft @ 7:11am moving down to a low tide of 1.79ft @ 1:13pm and then coming back up to a high tide of 7.51ft @ 7:23pm this evening. If you are planning a trip to Costa Rica or Central America and want more surfing information, contact us at Info@UnaOla.com or give us a call at 1-888-958-SURF.

Playa Grande, CR:
7-10ft Overhead + surf with poor shape. The swell increased overnight, but was way too much for the main peak and most of the beach, creating walled and closeout waves. The swell was pushing tons of current through the lineup washing it out. No one was out at the main peak, though there were a few guys surfing 'the palms', which wasn't really working either. The wind came onshore at about 8:30am making the conditions even worse. Today was a good day to go exploring some of the spots that are usually dormant, but the unfavorable winds will probably make it difficult to find anything worth surfing. We had an early morning high tide of 8.11ft @ 6:31am moving down to high tide of 1.69ft @ 12:28pm and then coming back up to a high tide of 7.80ft @ 6:39pm this evening. If you are planning a trip to Costa Rica or Central America and want more surfing information, contact us at Info@UnaOla.com or give us a call at 1-888-958-SURF.

6-7ft Head high plus surf with poor to fair shape. This morning another swell arrived, but was a bit too much for the main peak. The swell was pumping way too much current through the lineup to make it good for surfing. There were some decent looking waves down the beach, but all in all it looked like a good day to surf somewhere else. The report from one of our local surf guides was that Playa Negra was epic barrels all morning with only a few people out. The wind conditions were glassy this morning, but quickly came onshore. The swell is expected to grow overnight, making Playa Grande a mess. The nice thing is there are tons of hidden gems nearby that should start coming alive. We had an early morning high tide of 8.19ft @ 5:50am moving down to high tide of 1.58ft @ 11:49am and then coming back up to a high tide of 8.09ft @ 5:57pm this evening. If you are planning a trip to Costa Rica or Central America and want more surfing information, contact us at Info@UnaOla.com or give us a call at 1-888-958-SURF.

4-6ft Chest to head high surf with good shape. There were some really fun waves this morning. There was a bit more swell and the conditions were clean, glassy waves, with hollow, peeling rights and shorter lefts. The tide dropped quickly making for a short, but good surfing session. Hopefully, the winds with cooperate so we can get another good session this afternoon on the incoming tide. We had an early morning high tide of 8.23ft @ 5:11am moving down to high tide of 1.50ft @ 11:05am and then coming up to a high tide of 8.34ft @ 5:17pm this evening. If you are planning a trip to Costa Rica or Central America and want more surfing information, contact us at Info@UnaOla.com or give us a call at 1-888-958-SURF.

3-5ft Waist to shoulder high surf with fair to good shape. The morning session looked good, with fun some waves. The conditions were glassy, but the wind came onshore around 10:00am and looks like it will last the entire day. There is a slight bump on it now. And, we are starting to see some decent waves coming in now that the tide has started coming in. We had an early morning high tide of 8.23ft @ 4:31am moving down to high tide of 1.44ft @ 10:24am and then coming up to a high tide of 8.53ft @ 4:36pm.If you are planning a trip to Costa Rica or Central America and want more surfing information, contact us at Info@UnaOla.com or give us a call at 1-888-958-SURF.

3-4ft Waist to chest high surf with fair shape. The early morning session was good, but didn't last long. The conditions were decent and glassy, but the wind came onshore early and lasted the entire day. The afternoon saw decent waves on the incoming tide. There was a slight bump from the wind making it a little less than good, although, it was still worth it to go surfing. We had an early morning high tide of 8.18ft @ 3:51am moving down to high tide of 1.42ft @ 9:44am and then coming up to a high tide of 8.66ft @ 3:57pm.If you are planning a trip to Costa Rica or Central America and want more surfing information, contact us at Info@UnaOla.com or give us a call at 1-888-958-SURF.
