Corolla, NC:
You won’t be able to go surfing today. BUT, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t go to the beach. Air temp is might even hit 70 degrees due to a warm front out of the SSW. We current have “Lake Atlantic” surf conditions: NOTE: WE SOLD 4 USED SUP’S YESTERDAY. WE ARE OPEN TODAY WITH ARE USED SUP SALE HAPPENING! GARY, COROLLA SURF SHOP

Corolla, NC:
I just took thses pictures on the North Beach. The beach is actually crowded (compared to colder winter days). The waves are very small but the off-shore wind is making for surfable section if you have a longboard. The good news: The sun is out and it's very warm: saw beach goers working on their tans: NOTE: WE ARE OPEN AND SELLING OFF OUR RENTAL EQUIPMENT: GARY , COROLLA SURF SHOP

Corolla, NC:
I just took these pictures up in Ocean Sands. At this posting Corolla has waist to stomach high surf with primarily peeling rights. The wind is out of the WSW at 9 mph. Th tide has just flipped, so we have an outgoing tide. As long as wind stays down and doesn’t change direction, then a surf session might be warranted for this afternoon. NOTE: WE WILL BE OPEN THIS SATURDAY N SUNDAY FOR PRESIDENT’S DAY WEEKEND. LOOKING FOR A USED SUP? WE HAVE THEM IN STOCK AND NEED TO GET RID OF OUR USED BOARDS BEFORE WE ARE DELIVERED NEWS ONES FOR 2017. GARY, COROLLA SURF SHOP

Corolla, NC:
I just took these pictures in front of the Lighthouse Ramp Road. Air & water temps are matching each other: 46 degrees Fahrneheit. Wave high is only thigh high plus and Corolla has an outgoing tide. Surface conditions are choppy but there some very quick sections that stay open for 2 seconds. The sun is out which is helping to keep windchill down to a minium. NOTE: WE WILL BE OPEN FOR PRESIDENT'S DAY WEEKEND. GARY, COROLLA SURF SHOP

Corolla, NC:
Corolla currently has a steady rain shower which is giving us a “glass off”. Wave height is waist high but the tide needs to drop in order for sections to become more predictable. I took these pictures right after high tide, the lower the tide, the more the sections will break. Sold longboard day with hardly any wind chill. NOTE: COROLLA SURF SHOP WILL BE OPEN FOR THE PRESIDENT’S DAY WEEKEND.

I just took these pictures in front of my home break. Surf-able but rough conditions. The wind is out of the ESE. Wave height is at least waist to stomach high. Surface conditions are choppy but there are quick sections you could drop into. There still is a side-shore current running north to south with an incoming tide. NOTE: COROLLA SURF SHOP WILL BE OPEN FOR PRESIDENT’S DAY WEEKEND.

Corolla, NC:
After yesterday’s summer weather, Corolla has gone back to our classic winter reality. The wind switched last night from the SWS to the ENE. This has chopped up the ocean and created a side-shore current running not to south. Wave hight is about thigh high but I really couldn’t see any surf able section. Wind speed is 20 mpg which means wind chill has dropped into the high 30’s. Good News: we have had a very mild winter so far and H2O temps have only dropped down into the low 40’s. Our wish is that we have an early spring? REMINDER: WE OFER FREE DELIVERY FOR ANY OF OUR RENTAL PRODUCTS. GARY, COROLLA SURF SHOP

A winter day that feels like summer. Air temps are in the 70’s. The surf is flat, Corolla has an off-shore wind and we have an outgoing tide. When I took these pics I did see “whale spouts” and migrating whales heading north. They were about 3/4 of a mile out which is too far for me to get a good picture. Corolla, NC:
Corolla is getting ready for the winter storm that is already hitting the ENE. The forecast is for high winds and rain. The ocean & air temps are too warm at this moment for Corolla to get any snow, (at least at this posting). The OBX has a high wind coming out of the North at 25 plus. I just took these pictures at Shad Street. We have a very rough ocean, wave height is 3’ with broken sections and a very strong side-shore current: GARY, COROLLA SURF SHOP

Corolla, NC:
Air temp has shot up to 70 degrees. This warm air has created a thick fog. The off-shore wind allows surface conditions to be semi-glassy. Wave height is only knee cap high but we have an out going tide with well defined sand bars. There should be some decent breaks in south Whalehead. Water temps move up to 47 degrees Fahrenheit. Unseasonably warm day with a strong off-shore wind out the SSW. Air temps are forecasted to hit 70 degrees. You can tell by the pictures I took that the wind has flatten the surf. Corolla is currently going from low to high tide but the surf is so flat that even the incoming tide is not increasing wave height: GARY, COROLLA SURF SHOP

Spring like weather but very small surf. Wave height is ankle slapper to knee cap w/a light off-shore wind. At this posting, we have a light off-shore wind and an incoming tide. We have no complaints about the weather, it is helping to keep H20 temps out of the 30’s: GARY, COROLLA SURF SHOP

It’s all about the wind. Wind direction is out of the North to northeast. Wave height is wist to stomach and very choppy. Current air temp is 38 degrees and wind chill feels as if air temp is 30 degrees Fahrenheit. The North wind is creating a side-shore current running north to south. I took these pictures at Dolphin Street. Despite the chop, you can see a wide variety of sandbars. Mid Corolla might offer a good selection of surf spots. Stay posted: NOTE: A GREAT GIFT IS A COROLLA SURF SHOP GIFT CERTIFICATE. GARY, COROLLA SURF SHOP
