Today is a surf day! The wind turned last night and became an off-shore wind. Wave height is waist, chest high on the faces. Glassy conditions, mild air temps and a H20 is 59 degrees Fahrenheit! GO SURFING!

Corolla, NC:
At this AM, Corolla has a crazy wild ocean! Wave height is well over-head due to the East-South wind that is currently blowing at 25 mph. If this was summer, Corolla Beach Rescue would be posting Red Flags. There is a strong wind blowing at 25 mph that has created ‘out of control’ surf. What we are hoping for is for the wind to switch and come out the West. This am’s water & air are matching each other at 60 degrees Fahrenheit: NOTE: YOU CAN CATCH THE 99.1 THE SOUND COROLLA SURF REPORT BETWEEN 8:15 AM & 8:30. YOU CAN EVEN STREAM THE REPORT WHERE EVER YOU ARE! THAT’S IF YOU REALLY MISS HEARING MY VOICE EARLY IN THE AM? GARY, COROLLA SURF SHOP

Corolla, NC:
Corolla continues to have a very rough ocean after Saturday’s change in weather patterns. Wave height is about chest high but ocean conditions are rough with a side-shore current running north to south. The wind is still off the ocean blowing at 17 mph. But the forecast is for conditions to start clearing up. Plus water temps are still in the low 60’s. This AM air temp at 7:00 AM was 59 degrees but it is starting to warm up: NOTE: TAKE AL LOOK AT COROLLA SURF SHOP’S FACE BOOK AT THE NEW ROCKIT SURF BOARD FOR THE GROMS. GARY, COROLLA SURF SHOP

"fire and ice" is an edit compiled from two sessions I had this winter. We had a ton of days that were pumping that went unrecorded, but I'm stoked to have a few clips from those couple of sessions to share with you guys. The water is warming up now, and until next year, tubes like these will soon be distant memories. hope you enjoy!

Corolla, NC:
Corolla got a complete change in weather around 3:00 PM yesterday. The hot humid temp was a precursor to rain/thunderstorm that rolled into the Northern OBX last night. This caused a change in wind direction: currently we have a ENE wind blowing at 20 mph plus. Wave height is currently waist high but very choppy. It’s hard to determine where the sections are coming from.
