The first swell of the season hit the North Shore on October 28, 2013, measured at 5'-8' Hawaiian. Dave Wassel gets covered up and spit out.
Too much wind! Wind direction has moved from WSW to ESE this AM and wind speed is 17 to 20 mph w/gusts. Swell direction is of the SE and wave hight is about waist to lower chest. But the sections are being pushed over. Too bad because there are lines due to ground swell. The wind just needs to back off. Corolla still has mild air & water temps: NOTE: PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOU COFFIN TRAVEL BAGS. GARY, COROLLA SURF SHOP
Good morning! I hope that everyone had a happy and safe Halloween. And the surf.... Well it's up! The surf is running waist to chest high. The winds are blowing out of the SW at 10-12 mph and the air temperature is 76 degrees at the Pensacola Beach Gulf Pier. Low tide was at 6:36 this morning and high tide is at 9:58 tonight. It looks like the wind should go offshore this afternoon. One model shows it going offshore around 12 and another shows it going offshore around 3 pm. We will keep our eyes on it! The surf models are showing some left overs on Saturday morning and it looks like the surf is going to come back up for Monday. Monday is showing offshore most of the day too. So get your boards ready. We have SURF! Whoohoo. Have an awesome Friday and we will give you another surf report at midday.
Good afternoon! We still have surf. It looks like the winds have backed off a bit and the clouds have moved in. We even had a little rain shower while I was driving through town just a few moments ago. The surf is still running rib to shoulder high. I am not seeing as many big bombs come through like earlier today but the form does look to be a touch better. The winds are out of the South at 12-13 mph. It looks as though we should be seeing offshore winds come through behind this front around midday tomorrow. We will keep our eyes on it. Have a great Halloween and eat lots of candy! Then go brush your teeth!
